Sylvain plays the most wonderful jazz-flavoured French roots songs. And he’s been to Brier Island! He told us that Nova Scotians are among the friendliest people in the world, but that we shouldn’t be put off by the standoffishness of Quebecers– it’s only temporary! Wanda Waterman photo

This artist couple is part of Galerie Ambulante Art Nomade (https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=galerie%20ambulante%20art%20nomade), a wonderful travelling art initiative. And he’s from Cape Breton! At first he asked me if I was Romanian (others have asked me if I’m Russian) but I told him I’d learned my spoken French from Tunisians and he understood.
