Journaling: On Comfort

I had no cause to judge comfort and security until I saw how they froze people’s hearts into defensive mode, compelling them to see the world as a threat to their comfort and security when before they might have regarded everything through the lens of love. When we become so entrenched, the mind must convince itself that the comfort is deserved and the security necessary, and in this way self-righteous entitlement becomes a diabolical force in the world, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a means by which injustice prevails.
